The European Association for Food Safety, SAFE consortium acts to keep food safety on the agenda. Companies and public bodies spend millions keeping Europe’s food supply safe, and food is safer than ever, yet WHO estimates 23 million cases of food-borne illness and 5,000 deaths in Europe every year, and the European citizen is far from trusting of our food system. SAFE is a platform of research bodies: Institutes, Universities, Societies and Research Groups and Departments within them, acting as an independent spokesman for food safety research in Europe to the benefit of the public. Contact us to organize a peer-reviewed seminar or position paper on your food safety topic of interest!
